USW 16506

About Us

USW 16506 is the largest USW Local in the Hamilton area and we have a membership of over 1,000 workers, comprising of 22 different Units.

Our Local has a great Labour Day tradition, beginning, on “Labour Day Eve.”
On Labour Day Eve we assist the Area Council with their annual charity dinner. This is followed with the parade itself, on Labour Day.  What a great show of solidarity for the working man. Then we meet up after the parade for a great picnic. It is a great time had by all, and everyone is welcome to attend.

We also have a Children's Christmas Party every year at
the Steelworkers Hall, which has been a tremendous success.  Our annual Adult Christmas Party is very popular as well so get your tickets early.  The Women’s Committee holds a breakfast every year in honour of Norma Bertie to celebrate National Women’s Day.
